SOLVENT BASED ETHYL SILICATE CONSOLIDANT

SILIETILE is a consolidating agent based on ethyl silicate in an inert solvent mixture. The particular solvents allow an optimal absorption of the active principle through the capillaries of the stone material until the healthy core of the stone is reached. Here, following a chemical reaction with atmospheric humidity, it transforms into silica gel which, subsequently, acts as a binder of the decoeso material without giving rise to saline by-products.. SILIETILE does not change the breathability of the substrate and does not decrease the permeability to water vapor, does not change the chromatic aspect of the treated materials and has a high resistance to UV rays. It can be applied to natural silicate stones, exposed brick and absorbent building products, also of historical-artistic and / or monumental interest.
